About Last Supper Foundation
Honoring a life through the simple, sacred act of sharing a meal.
Last Supper Foundation was created from a belief that every person deserves to be celebrated, remembered, and truly seen; not only at the end of life, but while they are still here to feel it.
We design and prepare intimate, story-centered meals for individuals living with terminal illness, bringing loved ones together around a table filled with meaning, memory, and care.
Through storytelling and shared presence, a meal becomes something more than nourishment; it becomes a moment of connection, healing, and love.
Each gathering is a four-course narrative of a life: flavors from childhood, dishes from beloved places, and foods tied to relationships, journeys, transformations, and turning points.

OUR MISSION
To honor individuals living with terminal illness through personalized, story-driven meals that celebrate their lives, deepen connection, and restore dignity, beauty, and presence at the end of life.
OUR VISION
We envision a world where every person is honored at the end of life with compassion, beauty, and belonging- a world where shared meals become sources of remembrance, healing, and love, and no one reaches their final days without feeling seen, valued, and cherished.

Our Approach
We listen deeply.
Every dinner begins with a conversation: gentle, spacious, and guided by curiosity. We listen to the stories that shaped a person's life and translate them into a culinary experience infused with meaning.
We craft with devotion.
Chefs, volunteers, and loved ones come together to prepare a meal that is tended with intention, artistry, and care. From ingredients to ambiance, each detail is chosen to reflect the honoree's essence.
We gather in love.
Around the table, stories are shared, memories surface, and connections deepen. For many families, a Last Supper becomes one of the most meaningful experiences of their journey together.
Why This Work Matters
At the end of life, many people feel unseen, isolated, or unsure how to say
what remains in their hearts.
Last Supper Foundation exists to meet that moment with presence, nourishment, and care.
A shared meal softens the space. It gives permission for tenderness, for truth, and for remembering what was beautiful.
It is a way of saying: You mattered. We honor you. We love you.
We offer these meals at no cost to the families we serve, made possible through community support, volunteer devotion, and a shared belief that service is one of the most sacred expressions of love.
Our Story
Last Supper Foundation was born in San Francisco from the intersection of food, service, and presence-based care.
Founded by chef Ryan Baker, the project emerged from a defining experience: preparing Christmas dinner for his mother after her release from inpatient chemotherapy. In that moment of shared presence, without ceremony or distraction, he witnessed how food could hold memory, dignity, and love at the threshold of life; and how gentle honesty and loving compassion can soften even a lifetime of struggle.
What began as a single dinner has grown into a community dedicated to honoring life through presence, storytelling, and nourishment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Last Supper Foundation? Last Supper Foundation creates intimate, story-driven meals for individuals living with terminal illness. Each dinner is designed to honor a person’s life through food, memory, and presence—bringing loved ones together in a space of dignity, meaning, and connection.
Who are these dinners for? Our dinners are for individuals with terminal or life-limiting illness who wish to be honored through a shared meal with loved ones. Each experience is shaped around the honoree’s life, values, and story.
What makes a Last Supper dinner different from a typical meal? This is not a catered event. Each course represents a chapter of the honoree’s life: childhood, love, work, travel, faith, or meaningful moments. Food becomes a vessel for memory, storytelling, and connection. The focus is presence, not performance.
Is this religious or spiritual? We are non-denominational but fully devotional. We honor all spiritual paths, religious traditions, and belief systems, or none at all. Our work centers on reverence for life, love, and human dignity.
Who prepares and serves the meals? Meals are prepared by experienced chefs and served by trained volunteers who are carefully guided in hospitality, emotional presence, and care. Everyone involved is there to serve the moment.
Where do the dinners take place? Dinners may take place in a home, hospice facility, or other meaningful location, depending on the honoree’s needs and circumstances. Each setting is chosen with comfort, accessibility, and safety in mind.
Is there a cost to the honoree or their family? No. Our services are offered at no cost to the honoree and their loved ones. Last Supper Foundation is supported by donations, grants, and community partners.
How are honorees selected? We work closely with hospice organizations, palliative care teams, and community referrals. Our capacity is limited, and we prioritize care, readiness, and alignment to ensure each experience is held with integrity.
Can families or loved ones be involved in shaping the menu? Yes, deeply so. We collaborate with the honoree and their loved ones to design a menu that reflects meaningful memories, cultural traditions, and personal stories.
How do you support loved ones emotionally? Preparation and integration matter. We offer thoughtful communication before the dinner and optional post-event integration conversations to support loved ones in processing the experience.
Can I volunteer with Last Supper Foundation? Yes. Volunteers are essential to our work. All volunteers receive training in presence, hospitality, boundaries, and emotional care. We are intentional about roles, pacing, and support.
How can I support or donate? You can support our work through donations, partnerships, or sharing our mission with others. Every contribution helps us honor more lives through food and presence.
Is this connected to assisted dying or end-of-life medical decisions? No. We do not participate in medical, legal, or assisted-dying processes. Our role is purely relational, ceremonial, and supportive.
How do I learn more or make a referral? You can reach us through our website contact form or email. We’re happy to have a conversation to see if a Last Supper experience may be a good fit.
"May every table become a place where love is spoken, stories are remembered, and no one walks the threshold alone."
